
Major Snowstorms taking tolls on Fire Departments
The first two significant snowfalls of 2010 have taken their tolls on local fire companies in the DC Region. First on Saturday February 6 2010 The Bailey's Crossroads Fire Department lost significant apparatus when the roof collapsed on the Apparatus Bay while firefighters were still in the station. Second on Monday February 8 2010 The Dundalk Fire Department lost a new engine due to a roof collapse with fire in the station. Third and yet today February 11 2010 The Sykesville Freedom Fire Department lost their entire station due to a roof collapse with heavy fire according to the WBAL news all firefighters and equipment were saved due to the department being out on a previous call.
